Sardinia is a great place for a holiday if only for the Mediterranean subtropical climate which guarantees warm sunny weather most of the time. The summers are very warm and the winters very mild. The capital of Sardinia is called Cagliari and is easy to get to even if your campsite is not in the south of the island. The old city centre ‘Castello’ is situated on top of a hill. You can still see the old city walls and two towers from the 11th century.

• Centuries ago those two towers were needed to protect the two entrances of the city of Cagliari. There are plenty more historical buildings in Cagliari like the cathedral Santa Maria, the San Saturnino basilica, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Botanic Gardens and the Cittadella dei Musei. Reason enough to plan a day trip out from your campsite in Sardinia. The stalactite caves of Neptunus in Alghero are also a beautiful place of interest you can visit nearby your campsites. In Alghero you’ll also find the 15th century cathedral, the Catalonian city wall and the Angelu Ruju Necropolis. You can see there is so much to see and do in sunny Sardinia.
