You can take a flight to Olbia, Alghero or Cagliari and you can hire a car at the airport or book airport transfers. So there are two ways to reach your holiday destination on Sardinia.   Enjoy the experience of holidaying on the lovely island of Sardinia. Because of the Mediterranean subtropical climate the summers can be very hot and the winters are usually quite mild, so even in winter this is a good place to visit. One of the places you will undoubtedly visit is the capital Cagliari. At the top of the hill in Cagliari you’ll find the ruins of the old Castello (castle). The Castello still shows the old walls and two towers from the 11th century. In the early days these two towers were built to defend both entrances to the city of Cagliari. If you want to see more of Cagliari then you can visit the Cathedral Santa Maria, the San Saturnio, the Roman amphitheatre, the botanic gardens and the Citadella dei Musei.

  While on holiday in Sardinia there are also many places of interest in Alghero. Here you can visit the stalactite caves of Neptune, Angelu Ruju Necropolis, the Catalonian city wall and the 15th century cathedral. Sardinia is a perfect place if you like to go out in the evenings. There are many discos in Assemini and people come here from all over the island, even from the much larger city of Cagliari.
